Residential Project
A homeowner in Cobham, Surrey wanted to transform their beautifully landscaped rear garden into an inviting space for evening relaxation and entertaining. Featuring a stunning patio with pleached trees, a modern water feature, and an expansive lawn, the garden had immense potential. Big Green Electrical was appointed to deliver a seamless lighting and power scheme that matched the quality of the garden while remaining effortless to operate.
The Challenge
Although the garden was a showpiece during the day, the space lost much of its charm once the sun set. The client required a solution that combined safety, style, and convenience without compromising on design. Every fixture, socket, and cable needed to be placed with precise care to ensure no bulky fittings or exposed wiring distracted from the natural landscape.

The Solution
Over four and a half days, our team installed six warm 2700K Modux 1 Stainless Steel spike lights with glare guards to wash light across the paving and canopy. Four black Collingwood pole marker lights were fitted beside the rear steps for subtle, safe navigation. For power, a double outdoor socket was placed on the patio alongside two single sockets for the water feature and two Click double sockets on the rear wall. The entire system is managed via a 4-channel WISE smart control box with wall switch and remote fob access, fully certified with an NICEIC Minor Works Certificate.
The finished installation transforms the garden into a warm, relaxing sanctuary at dusk while keeping all fittings subtle and unobtrusive by day. The tailored WISE smart system gives the homeowner effortless control over separate lighting zones and power features at the touch of a button. Built using durable IP67-rated fixtures and fully certified workmanship, the system provides a safe, energy-efficient, and long-lasting outdoor living space.
