Electrical Testing for Commercial Premises

Electrical Safety Testing to BS 7671

All of the electrical safety testing that we carry out is to BS 7671. This is the standard set by the British Standards Institution. We believe in keeping you, your family members and your team safe. Should BS 7671 be updated, we will work to the new standards.

Regular Commercial Electrical Testing

All commercial buildings are required to have their electrical systems tested regularly. This is to ensure that the system is safe and meets all the relevant standards. Testing should be carried out by a qualified electrician who will carry out a range of tests, including an insulation test, a continuity test, and a ground fault current test.

The results of the tests will be used to create a report which will be used to assess the condition of the electrical system. If any problems are found, they will need to be rectified as soon as possible. Regular electrical testing is essential for ensuring the safety of both employees and customers.

Domestic Testing and Inspection

Domestic Testing

It’s only natural that you want your home to be safe. Landlords should ensure that any residential premises they own are inspected at least once every 5 years. We can come to your home at a time that is convenient to you and carry out our test and inspection.

Home Buyer and Homeowner Electrical Reports

If you’re a home buyer or homeowner, we can provide you with electrical reports for house sales and purchases. If you’re planning to buy a home, you need to know that it is safe for you and your family to live there. FAQ's

There are several different types of electrical testing that are commonly used by electricians and other professionals in the field.

The first type is called insulation testing, which involves analysing the thickness and quality of electrical insulation. This is a crucial step in ensuring that no electric currents will leak from inside to outside a given piece of equipment.

A second type of testing measures for ground faults, or instances where stray current escapes from an enclosure through some other path than its intended path.

Finally, another common type of electrical testing is called continuity testing, which checks for breaks or defects in various components such as cables or switches.

Overall, these different types of electrical testing are essential tools for assessing the quality and safety of electronic devices and systems.

Electrical testing is required in order to ensure the safety and reliability of electrical equipment.

This process involves assessing the condition of various components, including circuit breakers, wiring systems, and electrical panels.

Electrical testing is essential to identify any potential issues or hazards, so that they can be addressed before they lead to an accident or malfunction.

By performing regular testing on all electrical equipment, companies can help to minimise the risk of accidents and interruptions in power supply.

There is no clear answer to this question, as the frequency of electrical testing can vary depending on a number of different factors.

For example, some electricians recommend having your electrics tested every few years, while others suggest getting your electrical wiring checked annually.

Ultimately, the best approach is to work closely with a qualified electrician, like the Big Green Electrical team, who can assess your specific needs and provide you with customised advice.

This will ensure that your electrics are kept in optimal condition and help you avoid any costly or dangerous issues down the line.

A PAT test, or portable appliance test, is a crucial electrical test for any business that uses electrical equipment.

This test examines the safety and condition of all of a company’s electrically powered items, from small hand tools to large industrial machinery.

During the PAT test, each device is carefully evaluated to ensure that it meets current safety standards and is functioning properly.

An EICR, or an Electrical Installation Condition Report, is a document that is intended to provide information about the safety and quality of electrical installations.

This may include things like the condition of cables and wires, as well as potential risks and hazards in the system. It is typically performed by a qualified electrician who uses specialised equipment and testing techniques to conduct a thorough inspection.

The goal of an EICR is to promote safe working practices and protect both people and property from electrical hazards.

Ultimately, it is an essential tool for ensuring reliable power supplies at all times.
